Lung (Nick Cheung), a hardworking property agent, is facing a serious situation in life. His girlfriend won`t marry him unless he can buy her a 1000-sq ft. apartment in one year’s time; whilst Charlotte (Sammi Cheng) desperately needs a place to stay after her divorce.
Along with Lung’s intern Very (Oho), a mainland richling, they become co-owners of the office girl Hak’s (Angelababy) small flat that was left to Hak by her estranged mother.
This is another movie that takes place during the Joseon Dynasty. However unlike certain Korean dramas that takes on this premises. This actually way more fast-paced. The movie revolves around a King, spies, assassins, treason and love affairs.
And for the most part it's actually blended in quite well. The twist and turns actually makes this one quite immersive, despite some of the twist being quite predictable and all.
My one main disappointment is how certain characters and story structure builds up and at the end, it just seems to fall short with it's development. In another words, the good build up seemed a bit disappointing, because of the weak ending that just felt a bit abrupt. It's a movie that is worth the attention though.
Zombeavers is an action-packed horror/comedy in which a group of college kids staying at a riverside cabin are menaced by a swarm of deadly zombie beavers. A weekend of sex and debauchery soon turns gruesome as the beavers close in on the kids.
Riding the line between scary, sexy and funny, the kids are soon fighting for their lives in a desperate attempt to fend off the hoard of beavers that attack them in and around their cabin.
The Anomaly is basically a sci-fi film with only one point of view. It doesn't give much exposition to its questionable futuristic world, unless it has something to do with the main character's fight against his own odds.
The plot is appropriately straightforward, even with its heavy ideas, it all consistently fits. However what isn't so clever is how it is put together. How the character picks up the pieces of information is drab and incoherent, that seems like the filmmakers doesn't care much of the mystery and instead focus more on its style.
While those pretentious use of slow-motion and lens flares can be cool to look at, it also robs the potential of being at least a solid science fiction film. It's far from horrible as what many people have called it, but then it is also true at being a typical action film that you would watch when you are bored in an afternoon.
